Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra

In 2024, the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) engaged in a strategic planning process to strengthen its organizational identity, clarify its future direction, and create a clear plan for growth. Our work together included stakeholder engagement, collaboration with a small staff team, and a two-day retreat with staff and Board members that built alignment, surfaced new ideas, and shaped the foundation for the Phil’s next chapter.

The resulting strategic plan focuses on refining and thoughtfully expanding musical and educational offerings while strengthening organizational health and effectiveness. Key goals include expanding music education programming, growing performance offerings, enhancing communication and public engagement, investing in Board development, and ensuring sustainable organizational growth.

Deliverables included a decision-making framework, strategic plan implementation recommendations, a detailed workplan with timelines and activities, and a set of Board commitments developed during the retreat. Since the completion of this project, our work together has continued as we support PPO in implementing its plan and advancing its mission.

Developed a clear, actionable strategic plan that outlines key priorities for program growth, community engagement, and organizational sustainability.

Built alignment and momentum through a collaborative planning process, including stakeholder input, staff collaboration, and a two-day Board and staff retreat.

Delivered tools to support implementation and governance, including a decision-making framework, detailed workplan, and Board commitments to guide the Phil’s next chapter.
